The gloves are off. Barack “of course I inhaled” Obama’s fake-progressive “health care for everyone, because we care” administration has now declared war on sick people in California.
U.S. attorneys based in California sent letters to medical marijuana dispensaries here warning them that they must close within 45 days or face criminal prosecution. They also threatened the landlords with Federal seizure of their property.
This is exactly like threatening ordinary pharmacies like CVS with closure and forfeiture. Oh, but wait. It was just about a year ago that the Federal government did find that CVS was allowing people to buy chemicals used to make methampethamine — also in violation of Federal law. Did they shut CVS down and seize all their stores? No, CVS paid a $75 million fine and promised never, ever, to do it again.
So who will be the big winner if this nonsense is allowed to go forward? The Mexican Cartels, of course! By knocking out the dispensaries, the Feds are giving the sick people of California only one place to go to get their medicine: illegal drug dealers.
First it was the War On Drugs, now it’s the War On Patients. And just a few days ago, the Obama administration also declared War On U.S. Citizens by publicly claiming to have killed a U.S. citizen without so much as a trial. So what’s next?
After the Arab Spring, and now the protests erupting in many major U.S. cities, who can tell?
As a med mmj patient for over ten years for chronic low back pain from a high school injury I am appalled that Obama is allowing the feds to behave this way. He made promises that sounded so pretty. yeah, right. Here we are: dispensaries, patients, doctors, lawyers all being backed into the corner. They will drive us back onto the streets for our medicine.
I read today that the late Steve Jobs avoided mmj while fighting pancreatic cancer because taking it would have disqualified him for a liver transplant. What the hell ?~!
What must we do to rectify this ?
Barack Obama is such a disappointment.
He was not “my” candidate, anyway, but he has now broken so many promises……… Of course, we don’t know if MMJ treatment would have helped Steve Jobs or not; at some point, our number is going to be up whether we are pro-conventional, or, like me, pro-alternatives.
What I am sure of is that using medical marijuana in a deliberate and responsible way would have greatly improved his quality of life, no matter how long he ended up living.
