Government To U.S. Citizens: Drop Dead

It’s not just medical marijuana patients anymore.

It’s a hard-working former U.S. Marine who was shot 60 times, then denied medical attention until he died. It’s the U.S Government slapping down Texas legislators attempting to do something about the TSA invasive body scans and “patdowns”. It’s a Hispanic man in California sent to prison for 25 years to life for taking a driver’s license test for his cousin.

“The government” is not just at war with Afghanistan, Libya, and Iraq (none of which has actually attacked us, as far as I remember), but also officially has a War On (Some) Drugs, which has already claimed more lives and careers than any of us can count. But these incidents show that “the government” is actually at war with all of us, in many ways.

Even if we’re law-abiding citizens, mistakes by law enforcement agencies (such as attacking the wrong house in a military-style SWAT raid), can kill us. When we attempt to be honest citizens by exposing corruption and illegal actions by people in the “government”, we’re prosecuted by the same “government”. And according to at least one popular book, we’re all criminals on some level anyway, which gives “government” just one more excuse to harm us in some way.

Why do I keep using the scare quotes around the word “government”? Because they’re not acting like our real government (which is supposed to be “of the people, by the people, and for the people”), but instead more like an invading army. They’ve forgotten that we are America, not the enemy. And they’ve forgotten they’re supposed to be working for us.

Not attacking and killing us.

Old Hippie is a father of two boys and thankfully living in California where all this kind of thing is legal. He started smoking marijuana in 1967 in high school, experimented with mind-expanding drugs of all kinds, and then straightened out 15 or so years later to become an airplane pilot. After being diagnosed with depression in 2000, he lost his job and most of the following decade to prescription medications (such as antidepressants) which sapped his energy and will. Finally, a chance conversation with a friend led to a doctor’s recommendation for medical marijuana (MMJ). This changed his entire life, health, and outlook for the better. BeyondChronic.com is his continuing story. It’s also his way to provide experienced advice on using medical marijuana effectively and responsibly, as well as advocacy, activism, and support for others. Old Hippie teaches about safe use of cannabis edibles, Canna Caps, vaporizers, dosing, and even microdosing.

Great articleOH !
There is an awful lot of federal money being used to support the war upon the cannabis community.
What a shame that money is not being used for teachers and educating our children!

Too true.
The founders of this nation, fearing this exact scenario were wise enough to grant citizens the constitutional right to bear arms. As expected, since the ’70’s our impostor govt. has managed to chip away at that liberty.
The land of the fear and the home of the enslaved.
It’s like Robert Hunter wrote for Jerry to sing: “One way or another, this darkness got to give.” I certainly hope it does.
