How To Scare The Hell Out Of Yourself

I just discovered this method! Men only.

  1. Hit your vape or bong a few times.
  2. Before it has time to kick in, go to the bathroom to take a pee.
  3. Make sure it’s a cool night, and that your bathroom has slow-starting compact fluorescent bulbs installed.
  4. Start peeing, and watch the color and intensity of your pee vary wildly in real time as the bulbs get brighter and change color while the weed starts kicking in hard.
  5. Decide you’re suddenly tripping and freak out.
  6. Remember #3 and calm down.

The best cure seems to be writing about it 🙂

Old Hippie is a father of two boys and thankfully living in California where all this kind of thing is legal. He started smoking marijuana in 1967 in high school, experimented with mind-expanding drugs of all kinds, and then straightened out 15 or so years later to become an airplane pilot. After being diagnosed with depression in 2000, he lost his job and most of the following decade to prescription medications (such as antidepressants) which sapped his energy and will. Finally, a chance conversation with a friend led to a doctor’s recommendation for medical marijuana (MMJ). This changed his entire life, health, and outlook for the better. BeyondChronic.com is his continuing story. It’s also his way to provide experienced advice on using medical marijuana effectively and responsibly, as well as advocacy, activism, and support for others. Old Hippie teaches about safe use of cannabis edibles, Canna Caps, vaporizers, dosing, and even microdosing.

You mentioned in one post that you had lowered your blood pressure. What strain(s) did you use? I’m interested in getting one strain that will also cope with chronic insomnia. Suggestions?

Cannabis cannot really be used as a blood pressure medicine. For one thing, it tends to increase the heart rate in the short term, although it’s likely that it lowers the blood pressure over the long term. Not proven yet, but it seems to have done that for me. So there’s no one magic strain that will do that, although indicas in general tend to be more calming strains that also are ideal for insomnia. I’ve had good results with strains like Purple Kush, Afgoo, Berry White, and almost anything with 5% or more CBD in it.
