Barack Obama ran and won based on his appeal to the youth vote, hope, and change. He not only admitted to smoking marijuana, he proudly admitted it. And after he was elected, he announced that the DEA would be using common sense and compassion, and would no longer be raiding medical marijuana facilities. Patients and their families applauded this decision.

But now he’s nominated Michele Leonhart to be permanent DEA director — someone who has blatantly ignored President Obama’s own directive to leave dispensaries alone, and started raiding them again. Someone who doesn’t care about sick people. Someone who is against the very idea of people taking a stand for their own health, after expensive and dangerous pharmaceuticals have failed them.
