Thank you again! Last question, could put the oil back in the MBM at 250 degrees for an amount of time? The last thing I want to do is put the oil back into an oven that caused this issue in the first place. Or could I just put it directly on the stove with a pirex container and carefully monitor the temp?
The MBM would work, but there’s no way to watch the bubbles, so you’d risk overheating the mix. Putting a glass container, even Pyrex, directly over heat is also not recommended because that often causes it to break, and the bottom will in any case be much hotter than the top. An oven may change temperature a bit, but it is much larger and more heat-stable, and you are watching the bubbles so it’s safer for your oil (which you’ve already invested a lot of time and money in).
