Where Have All the Hippies Gone?

peas out hippie peace sign

And by that I mean…WTF happened to me and Felicity, considering our last post here was like six weeks ago?

Well. We’ve been OK, but somehow, one of the myriad pieces of baling wire holding our website together seemed to have failed or gone crazy or whatever. Even though we could all keep visiting the website, we couldn’t update it or access the admin panel from where we upload files, write posts, and do other important stuff. This really ticked me off, because I was just starting to get involved in a really good story, but I couldn’t do anything about it because it was time-sensitive.

I tried for weeks to fix the problem, and asked the hosting provider for help, but it was beyond even them. So finally I confessed to my LSW (long-suffering webmaster) that I was really, truly stuck (I would have gone to him sooner, but I was convinced that I had somehow screwed something up myself so I felt guilty). He rebuilt the entire site on another domain using a fresh copy of everything, and then painstakingly transferred all the settings by hand until now it works even better than before. He is truly a wizard!

Oh, and if you want to take the headline question seriously…I’m not too much of a Facebook guy normally, but I happened to get turned on to two Facebook groups with some seriously old hippies. One is called Not Necessarily Stoned, but Beautiful and the other is the 50th Anniversary Summer of Love bunch. Check them out!

Old Hippie is a father of two boys and thankfully living in California where all this kind of thing is legal. He started smoking marijuana in 1967 in high school, experimented with mind-expanding drugs of all kinds, and then straightened out 15 or so years later to become an airplane pilot. After being diagnosed with depression in 2000, he lost his job and most of the following decade to prescription medications (such as antidepressants) which sapped his energy and will. Finally, a chance conversation with a friend led to a doctor’s recommendation for medical marijuana (MMJ). This changed his entire life, health, and outlook for the better. BeyondChronic.com is his continuing story. It’s also his way to provide experienced advice on using medical marijuana effectively and responsibly, as well as advocacy, activism, and support for others. Old Hippie teaches about safe use of cannabis edibles, Canna Caps, vaporizers, dosing, and even microdosing.

Wow…the tenacity!! I’m impressed enough to add more more post to one more blog, today.
May ck out the FB pages…am attempting to extract myself from that time-eating venture and stick to Twitter: short and sweet.

Have a great day and know you’re surrounded by those of ‘like-mind.’…whatever that may be.
Best,
k

I’d wondered what happened with you. You don’t usually go quite this long between posts. Glad to know you got things sorted!
