In Which Felicity Has A Reset and Discovers Her Super-Power

This has been an odd week for Felicity.

Things started off fairly normally last Saturday night when my dear wife took one of the new, relatively strong Canna Caps I made for her to fall asleep, as she’s been doing lately. Then, she decided to stop using all cannabis for 2 or 3 days, since she didn’t feel she needed any (so much for addiction theories). Yet, she still reported feeling effects ([2] to [3] level) on each of those days! I know I make good stuff, but it’s not that good! Besides, she wasn’t feeling it all the time, just at odd moments during the day. We couldn’t figure it out.

Then things got weirder. On Wednesday afternoon, some animal outside surprised her, and she suddenly felt high again! This was even odder. But I had some theories (I like to try to figure out every little thing that happens with cannabis, because that way I learn something every time). Her tolerance suddenly reversing reminded me of when I had that massive “reset” last year, because my tolerance also went backwards and I was more sensitive to small quantities, rather than less sensitive from daily use as you might expect.

Storing THC

The sudden high after being surprised…hmm. I came up with a wild theory on the spur of the moment that the adrenaline from being surprised somehow caused her body to burn off fat that contained THC, because that was the only way (that seemed to make any sense) she could be getting high without further intake. And after a bit of research, it turns out I was right. Which means that any circumstances which release one of the hormones that trigger your body to burn fat (epinephrinenorepinephrineglucagongrowth hormonetestosterone, and cortisol) can cause you to have a sudden episode of feeling high “out of nowhere”, as many people have been reporting for years (often without being believed).

So back to the reset. That night, I reminded her of my previous reset, and how my body had completely depleted its cannabinoid reserves. So she took another one of the weak capsules and one of the strong ones. Normally, this combination would be enough to get her to the moon, or at least [12] anyway. But she only got to about a [4], because she was definitely depleted. And then tonight we tried the same capsules again! Last time I checked, she was about [6], so she’s definitely recovering 🙂

But now we know her weed super-power: she can store cannabinoids in her body and release them as needed! Wow!

Old Hippie is a father of two boys and thankfully living in California where all this kind of thing is legal. He started smoking marijuana in 1967 in high school, experimented with mind-expanding drugs of all kinds, and then straightened out 15 or so years later to become an airplane pilot. After being diagnosed with depression in 2000, he lost his job and most of the following decade to prescription medications (such as antidepressants) which sapped his energy and will. Finally, a chance conversation with a friend led to a doctor’s recommendation for medical marijuana (MMJ). This changed his entire life, health, and outlook for the better. BeyondChronic.com is his continuing story. It’s also his way to provide experienced advice on using medical marijuana effectively and responsibly, as well as advocacy, activism, and support for others. Old Hippie teaches about safe use of cannabis edibles, Canna Caps, vaporizers, dosing, and even microdosing.

I always thought that the reason cannabinoids stick around (and become the most common reason for failing urinalysis) is not just because they’re fat soluble, but also because they’re something the body wants to store away for later… Most other things, your body is trying to eject into the waste stream ASAP.

Interesting article. I wonder if this phenomenon relates to the “runner’s high” and if it happens with endocannabinoids as well.
